Shop Rides

Central Wheel has started group rides. All rides leave from Central Wheel. These are fair weather rides. If the weather looks to be in question please call the shop. Please ask about membership to the GHCC. All rides require common sense! Please ride in such a way that you are not a danger to yourself or others. Do not hold up traffic and you must wear a helmet.

Ride Types:

  • Beginner Ride- Learn the basics.
    • 12-14mph average speed
    • an hour to two
    • rolling roads with some traffic
    • no one left behind
  • B Social Ride- A non-competitive ride that rolls along.
    • 17-19mph average speed
    • an hour or two
    • rolling roads with some traffic
    • no one left behind
  • A Social Ride- non-competitive ride that rolls along.
    • 19-21mph average speed
    • an hour or two
    • rolling to hilly roads with traffic
    • no one left behind
  • Training Ride- based on race training.
    • 17-25mph average speed
    • an hour to five
    • rolling to hilly roads with traffic
    • know your way home this is a drop ride.

 

 

  • Saturday Morning BEGINNER Road Ride (April-Sept.)   ( 5 Articles )

    Tires rolling at 9:00. This is no drop Beginner Road Ride. Learn the basics of riding in group with traffic. The route will change in duration throughout the season. A bike, helmet and common sense are required.

  • Saturday Morning "A SOCIAL Road Ride"(April-Sept.)   ( 3 Articles )

    Tires rolling at 7:00. This is no drop "A Social Road Ride". The route will change in duration throughout the season. A road bike, helmet and common sense are required.

  • Thursday Night TRAINING MTB Ride (Julyl-Sept)   ( 0 Articles )

    Fat tires rolling at 6:00pm Thursday. This is Training Mountain  Bike Ride. Each ride will be around 2 hours in duration with little stopping. Focus of the ride will be to maintain fitness and just have fun! We will ride a variety of terrain including single track, double track and fire roads at the West Hartford Reservoir. Classic style cross-country (no free riding off big drops and etc) ride. A bike, helmet and common sense are required. You must be self-sufficient.
